Andrew the Thomas Loving Two Year Old (31 Month Update)

Dearest Andrew,
Well, I am sad to report that your mother did not write anything in your journal between December 16th and December 29th.  :(  I am sorry.  That was a BUSY time and I was very sick to boot.  Why was I so sick?  Well, as you (and everyone else by now) know, Mommy is going to have another baby!  Woo-hoo! :) This baby hasn’t been very nice though and Mommy has been SICK.  I told you and Daddy last night that when this baby got here, instead of letting the doctor spank him or her, we would all three take turns spanking that little booger.  :)  Just kidding.  No one spanks anyone, calm down. :)

Well kiddo, what I didn’t journal this past month was mainly about Christmas.  You had a great time of course, but you, Daddy, and Mommy were all sick on Christmas day.  What a bummer.  We still enjoyed it as best as we could though.  The weekend before Christmas we went to Gi Gi and Papa’s house for Christmas and everyone was there!  We sure had fun!  Gi Gi made a wonderful meal, you got to play with your cousins, and we all got to meet baby Charis.  Then on Christmas Eve we had dinner with Mimi and Pop and you got to see Zane and Sky again!  Christmas morning Mimi and Pop came to our house and we had breakfast and opened presents galore!  Right after that, we went to Uncle Keith and Aunt Amy’s house to see everyone and you had SO MANY presents!  Grandma got you and Marcus so many presents, I wasn’t sure you two would know what to do, but you got it done! Hehe! :)  We has lunch, played Bingo, and had a good day just being with family.  This year’s toy theme for you: Thomas.  You got so many trains!!!  Although you LOVE your new trains and train sets, you still love to play with your wooden train set.  We have one of each set up and you play with the equally. :)

Okay, well as far as what you did this month, it is a bit shorter, but I will go ahead and put what I have. I know without a shadow of a doubt you did SO much more than this, but I just don’t always get it down.  I don’t know how many times I turn to Daddy and say, “Now what was that cute thing Andrew did yesterday?”  Sadly sometimes we can’t remember.  But there were a few, so here we go!

  • This is a cute one! :)  You have started asking Dada for a cat.  No prompting from Mommy either.  I promise.  So Daddy looked at you and said, “No, we have a dog, a kid, and a wife.”  You said, “I want a kitty!”  Daddy said, “No kitty.  We have a dog, a kid, and a wife.”  Hahaha! You two have gone on and on like this for weeks.  Daddy thinks we have plenty and you just aren’t sure.  You love to say, “We have a dog, a kid, a wife, and a kitty!”  You two are such goobers! :)  And may I add, I *love* how I got thrown in there as "wife".  Not.  Haha, you two crack me up!
  • When you ask someone’s name you say, “What his name is?” Hehe.  And it’s always he/him.  You don’t seem to know she/her.  When you talk about Abby, you always say something like, “Where he is?”  Mommy is working on that… :)
  • Like I mentioned above, I have been sick!  I have had everything under the sun on top of just good old nausea.  You have been SO sweet and are always trying to help.  You are truly the best kid ever!
  • You FINALLY tasted your first fruit that wasn’t applesauce, juice, or mashed.  I gave you a nectarine and you ate tiny little bites and sucked out some of the juice.  You didn’t eat much, but at least you tried it.  I give you oranges, grapes, strawberries, and such pretty much every day, and they always go untouched.  This is progress, no matter how small.  :)
  • We decided to take you to Chuck E. Cheese to play games one night and to say you had a blast would be an understatement!   You LOVED it!  We took you a couple of weeks later again and you had just as much fun.  That is something we will do on family night every once in a while because that is something you love!  Daddy and I have fun just watching you!  :)
  • Your mother loves to make up little songs all the time and one that has stuck (and we sing this all the time) is our pajama song.  It’s actually more like a cheer and it’s so simple it’s not even funny, but you love to sing it!  Here we go: “Pajamas, pajamas, let’s go pajamas!  Pajamas, pajamas, let’s go pajamas…WOOOO!!!”  Lol!  That took a lot of brain work there!  :)  It’s so funny how some things just stick and that is one of them.
  • You and I made a gingerbread house that Grandma gave you.  Well, Daddy made it, because we couldn’t get it together, but we decorated it.  You had more fun eating the candy and licking the icing than actually decorating it though. :)
  • You have been doing more Charlie Brown quotes from the Christmas special.  It’s so random when you do it, it’s just the funniest thing! :)
  • ***ALL GRANDPARENTS SKIP OVER THIS ENTRY*** :)  I actually *gasp* wrote and entry about you being a pill!  I remember that day clearly!  You really were pushing the limits.  When I tell you not to do something you are not supposed to do, you say, “But I hafta!!!” and frown.   That doesn’t seem like something fun to write about, but the reason I did was this.  That is a rare thing for you.  Yes, you are two and you act like it sometimes, but most days you are SUCH a good kid.  I am thankful that those other days are few and far between.  Okay, maybe the grandparents can read this one after all. :)
  • You spent a few days calling us Joe and Kaf-run.  Hahaha! I always laugh, but Daddy always says, “No, I’m Dada.”  :)  You also like to call us (and yourself) all sorts of things.  We have been bunnies, dinosaurs, dogs, kitties, etc.  You will say, “Come on bunny!”  Hahaha! :)
  • You like to ask what it is that we are eating all the time and you will say that you like whatever it is, no matter what it is (even if you’ve never tried it).  You might say, “Mommy what is that?”  and I will say, “Mommy is eating an apple.”  You will say, “I like apples.”  You saw me eating a salad and asked me what it was and when I told you, you got a disgusted look on your face and said, “I don’t like salad!”  Hahaha!
  • You had a PB&J, something you have refused to eat in the past!  I was THRILLED!  Your food victories are small, but I will take them any way I can. :)
  • We went to the Christmas train with Mimi and Pop and we all really had fun!  You were in awe pretty much the entire time and the weather was just beautiful that night.  It was actually not that cold at all.  I really hope we can go again next year!

Well, that is all for this month!  I am thinking about stopping the monthly update and doing more frequent entries, but we will see.  You say and do cute things all the time, but you are at the age where you have pretty much done all of your big milestones.  As soon as I start feeling better I need to take some more time to work on your blog.   Well, I love you so much pal!  You are the light of my life!  Don’t you ever forget that! :)
