Dearest Andrew,
I think I say this every time, but this month went by so
fast. You celebrated Christmas number
two, your second New Years, and became even more talkative. There is no way to keep up with your words anymore,
you talk so much. Some things you say
over and over again like, “Okay”, “Please”, “Help”, Thank You”, and of course “Mama”
and Dada”. There are a few things you
have said like “I love you” that we have never heard again. You are really getting good at communicating
what you want and/or need. Recently you
started going to the fridge and opening it when you want a drink, which is
cute, but weird since you always have a drink out. I think you are secretly hoping Mama will
pour you a Root Beer. Hehe. You LOVE to say “Help” when you need or want
something. It comes out more like, “Ha-el-puh!” It’s cute!!! And of course I think your very favorite thing to do is RUN! I always joke that I should put my Fitbit on you and see how many steps you are getting in a day. You are always on the go! :)
Christmas was once again, a lot of fun! We started out at Papa and GiGi’s and had
Christmas with all of your aunts and uncles (except Uncle Brent and Aunt Megan,
they had to stay in NYC and were really missed) and your cousins Zane and
Sky. We had a great time and you got
lots of presents. You got a bunch of
clothes from GiGi and this cool bouncy toy called a Rody that you love to
bounce on. Your aunts and uncles gave
you all kind of gifts too, you spoiled
thing you. Hehe! GiGi really liked the cookie cutters you gave
her and they loved the ornament with all three grandkids on it. We then had Christmas with Mimi and Pop
where you got an awesome chair from Pottery Barn Kids. You love it and we call it your throne. Which started us calling you King and now you
say, “I’m the King!” Hahaha! Uh-oh! We also gave Mimi and Pop an ornament and they loved it too! We then went to Grandma and Grandpa’s and spent the last part of
Christmas with Aunt Missy, Uncle Eric, and Emily. Aunt Amy and Uncle Keith stayed home because
Marcus had been sick. We sure missed
them! Grandma broke the bank getting you
toys! So many new things to play
with!!! Mommy and Daddy got you a car to drive and although you enjoy riding in it, you spend most of the time playing with the car on it's side and spinning the wheels. Hehe! :)
Towards the end of last year, I bought a book called a Gratitude Journal where I can
write down a little something every day of the year. I will be using that now to talk about what
went on the past month. I will probably
give just the highlights. Since the beginning of the year started in the middle of your 18th month, I only have half of what went on. :) Here are a few of them:
- You say “Okay” when you want something or to reassure yourself you are okay if you fall.
- You learned to eat a sandwich from biting off the sandwich, although you still prefer to have it cut into pieces.
- You asked for a “cookie” (Teddy Graham) and then said “please” for more.
- You think water is a treat, hehe, and although we are more than glad to give it to you, sometimes we ask that you drink your milk first.
- You had your 4th haircut.
- We are officially ordering off the kids menu for you. Sometimes you do well and eat what we get you, other times you act like you don’t want any part of it. We are learning what you do and do not like.
- We were watching some classic Sesame Street clips with Grover the waiter and you said, “Waiter!” like you were calling for him! Bahahaha, it was so cute!
- You asked for soup for lunch and I thought to myself there is no way you know what you are asking for. However, you really like Broccoli Cheddar Soup so I made a simple version and as you were eating it, you kept saying, “Mmmm!” I guess you did know what you were talking about!
- We were at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago and you wanted out of your car seat when we got there. You started yelling, “Help!!!” frantically. Hahaha! I was afraid someone was going to think we kidnapped you!
- You discovered there were suckers in the pantry and now every time I open the pantry and you see me, you say “Sucker?” asking for one. I hardly ever give you one, and you just do not understand why I won’t give you one! It’s sad, I need to put them up higher!
- You LOVE to give Mom and Dad checkups with your doctor kit. You will take different instruments and walk up to us and say, “Uh-huh, uh-huh…” Then when the checkup is over, you give us a hug. So sweet!
- You know apples and bananas by sight and can say what they are.
- Conversation between you and Zane the other day Mimi overheard: Andrew: “Where’s Sky?” (Mimi said it was very clear). Zane: “Sky’s at school”. I was impressed, one because you knew that Sky belonged with Zane and two, because you knew how to ask where she was. Very cool!
Well, that is all for this month. Once again, so much has happened, I doubt I
got it all on here. We sure have
fun! I love you little man!
Love,
Mommy
