10 Months and Cute As Ever!

Dearest Andrew,
Well, here we are at 10 months. I can’t believe we are already here! In just two short months you will be a year old. Mommy just cannot believe that!!! You are growing so fast! I spent some time the other day looking at all the pictures I have taken of you over the past 10 months and cannot believe how much you have changed! I love it though. You are so much fun right now. We play all the time and you love to laugh!

Today, however, was spent with Daddy. Normally Mimi is with you on Mondays, but since she was out of town, Daddy stayed home and watched you. What a treat for you! You ADORE your Daddy!!! I have a pretty good feeling Daddy is your best friend. Mommy premade all of your food for the day, and you and Daddy had a blast playing. Mommy was sleeping since I have to go to work tonight and had worked last night and I could hear you two every once in a while. I didn’t mind though. I love hearing my guys having so much fun together!

Okay, so over the past month quite a few things have changed. First of all, you started sleeping by yourself. Yes, Mommy and Daddy were a little late in the game, but we loved putting you to sleep. You cried only a couple of times and then got the hang of it. Mommy puts you down twice a day for a nap and at bedtime. You never complain! It’s amazing how good of a kid you are! I lay you down, you open your mouth for your pacifier and I turn on your overhead projector thing with music (it puts cute pictures on the ceiling) and you eventually go to sleep. We are on such a routine and I love it.

You have also started eating finger foods this month and even eat a little of what Mommy and Daddy eat if it is appropriate for you. It’s so much fun watching you try new things. You LOVE (I mean LOVE, LOVE, LOVE) Cheerios! That stuff is like baby candy. I love watching you feed yourself, also something that is very new. You have a new tooth, making seven total, and you use them to chew things like your Cheerios. You may be thinking, "Duh Mom, of course I used my teeth to chew!", but that is actually something you have to learn to do. You have been eating finger foods for a little while now by gumming them and only recently starting using your teeth. :)

I am sure there are other things that have happened and I will try to get them in your baby book. I have so much fun filling that in! I am just so glad you are in my life little man, the last ten months have truly been the best ever. You make every day wonderful, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart! I love you so very, very much!

Love,
Mommy

PS - This picture was once again taken on the day you turned a month older. This is you at 10 months old exactly! :)

Andrew & Mimi

Dearest Andrew,
Here are a few facts about your Mimi:
#1 Your mommy and Mimi are a lot more alike than Mommy cares to admit. Hehe!
#2 Your Mimi has moved a million-bajillion times. Yes, this is an actual number. Trust me.
#3 Your Mimi is a Master Gardener and an Interior Designer.
#4 Your Mimi is a very creative person.
#5 Your Mimi is one of Mommy's very best friends and was the only non-medical person in the delivery room besides Daddy.
#6 Your Mimi loves playing with her Andrew.
#7 Your Mimi is technologically...how shall we say it...cursed. Hehe!
#8 Your Mimi seems to find a way around fact #7.
#9 Your Mimi watches you every Monday while Mommy is sleeping and you two have a blast!
#10 Your Mimi loves you verrrry much!

I am sure in your little 9 month old mind, you really look forward to Mondays. I would, I always loved visiting my grandparents and Mimi is probably the best! She's animated, talkative, and loves the snot out of you you, all very attractive qualities to an infant! Every time she sees you, her eyes light up. I love seeing the two of you together! This is something Mommy has dreamed of for a long time! Mimi is Mommy's mommy and we are the best of friends. I can only pray that you and I have a relationship as good as mine and Mimi's. We love you little man!

Love,
Mommy

PS - You obviously are not 9 months in this picture, but I just love it so much, I had to use it! :)

Andrew's New Car Seat

Dearest Andrew,
Well we went to the doctor on Tuesday for your 9 month checkup and you did such a good job. Thankfully there were no shots this time. You did everything you were supposed to and smiled at everyone. You gained four pounds since you were last weighed at 6 months and grew 2 ½”. You are now 21 lbs. 12 oz. and 31” long. You are a big boy! You are 65% on your weight and “off the chart” for your height. On that note we decided it was time to move you out of your infant car seat and into a bigger toddler seat. The one we got you is really for all stages, but it is much bigger. You were only one inch away from growing out of your car seat. When we tried out the one we bought you, you just seemed to have so much more room! And you looked SO grownup!!! I put the picture on Facebook and your Mimi almost didn’t recognize you! You look adorable in your new seat and like I said, much more comfortable. Once again, I can't believe how fast the time has passed! You are just growing up too fast mister! I felt a little sadness when I put up your first car seat, but it is really neat to open the car door and see your cool new car seat! I hope you like it, we sure do! I love you so much my big boy! :)

Mommy

Andrew's First St. Patrick's Day

Dearest Andrew,
Today was a lot of fun. We crawled around the floor, played with toys, sang songs...pretty much the same old stuff we always do. But we did it all while wearing green! Hehe! Daddy didn’t wear green so Mommy pinched him twice. Once for me, and one for you too! We wear green so others won’t pinch us, but also because that is just a tradition on St. Patrick’s Day. We learned a little about Ireland at church on Wednesday night and the missionaries on their way there. We also learned a little bit about St. Patrick.
Let’s go to once again to one of Mommy’s favorite sites, Wikipedia.

Saint Patrick was a Romano-Briton and Christian missionary, who is the most generally recognized patron saint of Ireland or the Apostle of Ireland, although Brigid of Kildare and Colmcille are also formally patron saints.
Two authentic letters from him survive, from which come the only universally accepted details of his life.[7] When he was about 16, he was captured from Wales by Irish raiders and taken as a slave to Ireland, where he lived for six years before escaping and returning to his family. After entering the Roman Catholic Church, he returned to Ireland as an ordained bishop in the north and west of the island, but little is known about the places where he worked. By the seventh century, he had come to be revered as the patron saint of Ireland.

There you have it. We also listened to a story on Adventures in Odyssey that goes into a little greater detail. When you get older, we will have to listen to it again. It really is a great lesson.

Anyway, like I said, we had fun today. We didn’t do a whole lot, but we still had fun just being together. I hope you always enjoy celebrating silly little holidays with Mommy. Maybe we can talk Daddy into celebrating with us someday too! Hehe! I love you my little leprechaun.

Mommy
